Hello Denver!!

This blog will be my random musings on the state of the state of remodeling and renovation in the Denver metro area. Special emphasis will be given to the residences in Denver's core. The 75-100 year old (mostly 2 wyeth) brick houses, with their special charm & style - and attendant difficulties.
I have run my own company -, Craftsman Renovators - for the last 14 years, doing everything from pop-tops to decks & decorative fences. While I haven't gotten rich, I've been able to work at something I love and be in business for myself.
I am writing this blog to share my own experiences as a remodeling contractor in the City and County of Denver, to talk about the business, new tools, products, trends and anything that affects the myriad craftsmen out there who are trying to do a good job for there clients and support there families.
Avid DIYers are also welcome. My start in this business came from the confidence I gained doing projects on the houses I've owned, then neighbors and friends, and finally taking the plunge and going into business for myself.
Interestingly enough, I am currently abuot 2/3 of the way through a 1170 sq. ft. new construction project, but with several smaller remodel projects in the pipeline.  Anectdotally, it seems that remodel remains strong in the metro. Depot is busy and I see lots of trucks and vans clustered around homes doing projects. What say you fellow craftsmen, what is your take on todays market?
